Ideas & Planning

Brief Requirements

The key requirements of the brief is to first off, explore the variety of contexts of diversity and to
get a solid understanding of what the term means. Another key requirement would be to generate ideas based around your research and to pitch them to an audience. Also, your pitch should include an in-depth explanation of what you intend to create and the tools and techniques that you have planned to use. Throughout production you must evaluate consistently and effectively, making sure that once your production has finished to present it professionally.

To present your project professionally, if you are creating a 2D piece, you must submit your final render in a HD or 4K format. If you are working with 3D software, you must make sure to include adequate lighting for your models and to render it in HD. Lastly, if you are creating an animation you must also make sure that it is at high definition (HD) and that the fps is an acceptable rate.
I am hoping that from this project I am able to gain more professional experience and develop my industry skills much further. Due to having more independence on this project, it will give me and idea of what it is like to work on an industry brief.
I would also more specifically like to improve my practical skills so that I have a better understanding in different softwares to improve my all-around knowledge.
I am most confident in 3D softwares so it will be beneficial for me to work on my 2D skills. I am unsure if I will animate during my project but as long as I execute good 2D skill, I will have met my own personal requirements.
A few 3D skills that I would like to improve on is texturing, UV mapping and modelling. I have previous knowledge with these skills however I am not totally confident in executing them. My FMP isn't a good place to start using tools that I am not confident in using but I will make sure to dedicate time, especially during my skills experimentation to practice and reflect on how effective these skills would be if I were to include them in my project.

Reflecting on Feedback
During my pitch, I gained insightful feedback on how to take my ideas further.
While taking my feedback into consideration and looking back on my ideas it has brought me to realise that my ideas need to be developed a bit more.
One issue that was highlighted is that my idea wouldn't take me the whole 5 weeks of production so I will have to come up with a more imaginative approach to make sure that my time management is met.
I am going to reflect on this feedback by combining attributes from my ideas into one. I am going to create a 3D model of a body in Maya through the use of differently coloured shapes. This is my way of taking my ideas one step further as I originally planned to just create a face. I may also use a series of 'drawing to the music' to create a background for my 3D model using 2D software.
During skills experimentation I am going to explore how I could potentially translate my model into an abstract art style. I will see how I could make it work when experimenting however if I am unable to create the sense of the abstract style through shapes, I will turn to the colour palette and express it through colouring different parts of my model differently.
